Peter and Sarah are on holiday in Wales with their Aunt Myf. On a visit to St. David’s, Peter discovers a mysterious stone. This proves to be a lost treasure of the Ellyllon, Elves, of Arx Emain.
The Elves, led by Gwyn-ap-Nudd and their GUARDIAN, Anir, wish the return of their Stone, but there are dark forces who desire it also, the chief of these being Arddu, the Dark One, who dwells with many fearsome allies under the Prescelly Mountains. Peter, Anir, and the Ellyllon will have to fight them, in order to win back their Stone!

It all began with a stone from St. David’s, a large volume in Ancient Welsh from Aberystwyth University, and Peter and Sarah, who have been wanting me to tell their story for at least the last thirty years. My two shadow children had been with me ever since I began writing stories at school. They came into being properly during the family holidays in Wales.

It was a hot summer in Pembrokeshire where Peter and Sarah were spending their summer holiday. As usual they were staying with Aunt Myf who lived in a cottage by the sea on the edge of a small village called Cwm-yr-Eglwys. When Peter awoke, he saw stars above him. He stared at them for a while in silent joy. It was the first time that he had been outside Arx Emain for what seemed an age, though in all was probably only a few weeks, certainly less than a month. Somehow, time seemed to run differently in the underground kingdom.

It seemed that the Elvish armies waited for an age for anything to happen. There sat Gwyn on his magnificent white stallion, his armour and weaponry shining in the sun, with all present resting their eyes on him waiting for the signal to move. Only Sarah’s occasional ‘hic’ broke the silence around them.

That term at school, Peter and Sarah were unsettled. Everyone noticed it. Then just before Christmas, Mother came into their rooms to tell them that Aunt Myf was going to be married.
